THE HARDY TIN SOLDIER
'Ours is a love story. It begins, as so many stories do, with soldiers on a great journey.' The factory ran out of tin, so Hardy the soldier has only one leg. But that doesn't stop him falling in love with the beautiful dancer on the music box. Yet when the toys all come to life on the stroke of midnight he finds he must call on all his courage to win the heart of the ballerina.
THE FIR TREE
'Why does growing up have to take so long?' The little fir tree lives in a beautiful forest but is always unhappy. He wants to be bigger, to see more of the world, to be turned into the mast of a mighty ship like the older trees. But when he finally gets his wish, and is cut down to become a Christmas Tree in a grand house, it turns out not to be as exciting as he imagined.
